灵璧石是我国四大园林名石之一，灵璧石假山盆景传统工艺，是英德的能工巧匠们充分利用当地资源，以生动的造型形式来表现人们的传统审美观念、文化态度以及生活方式的一种手工艺术。在宋杜绾《云林石谱》、赵希鸽《洞天清录集》、明朝计成《园冶》、清朝屈大均《广东新语》等书中均有论述。
